2021 ILEA Winter Equity Institute

In addition to developing strategies that specifically address the degree completion among Black and Latinx students, many ILEA partner institutions cited plans to recruit and retain a racially diverse workforce. Cultivating inclusive workplace environments is critical to ensure that minoritized staff members feel a sense of belonging.
Panelists in this session shared lessons learned from participating in identity-focused leadership programs sponsored by NASPA and the Hispanic Association of Colleges & Universities. They also offered insights on how supervisors of POC staff can deliberately guide their professional development.
