The College and University Partnerships team has engaged in a number of partnerships to advance equity in the state of Illinois that have included research, communities of practice, and trainings.

Social Belonging Interventions

In coordination with the College Transition Collaborative based out of Stanford University, and the University of Illinois at Chicago, and with the support of Reach Higher Campaign, Partnership for College Completion (PCC) created a video intervention designed to increase persistence and completion rates of incoming freshmen by supporting the development of students’ sense of belonging on campus.

Presidents for Latino Student Success in Illinois

In partnership with Excelencia in Education, a national non-profit organization whose mission is to accelerate Latino student success in higher education, PCC implemented the Presidents for Latino Student Success initiative from August 2017 to April 2018. The initiative marked the Partnership’s inaugural effort to create a community of practice around a shared goal of Latino student success.

College & University Trustee Training

In 2017, PCC hosted a breakfast for new public university trustees to discuss college completion rates and achievement gaps in the state. Additionally, the Partnership delivered a student success presentation to Illinois’ public university trustees at the October 2017 New Trustee Conference hosted by the Illinois Board of Higher Education at Illinois State University.
