Recognizing that emotional health is tied to student success in and out of the classroom it is imperative that mental health practitioners, faculty and administrators are well-equipped to handle the challenges that students bring forward, especially underrepresented student populations. This presentation focused on racial trauma and other mental health issues that may get in the way of students’ progress as it is imperative to discuss culturally responsive support for students and how campuses can make support accessible to all students.
