The Partnership for College Completion welcomed Monique Bowman as its senior communications manager in July 2023. She brings more than 15 years of communications experience to the Partnership.
“I am very excited to join the Partnership, and I look forward to telling the story of its important and impactful work,” Monique said. “Throughout my life, I have frequently been the ‘only’ in the classroom or at the decision-making table. The work we do will ensure others that look like me or come from a similar background will have opportunities to complete their educational journey and advance to positions of influence.”
Monique previously worked at the Big Ten Conference as director of digital and social media, where she was the driving force behind the creation and implementation of a robust social media marketing strategy. Prior to moving to Chicago, she spent five years at The Ohio State University. There, she spent three years with the athletic department as associate director of digital media and two years as communications coordinator with the Office of Distance Education and eLearning. Her other professional stops have taken her to Kansas City, Kan. (United Soccer Coaches); Ada, Ohio (Ohio Northern University); and Pittsburgh (Presidents’ Athletic Conference). Monique started her career as an account executive at Fahlgren Mortine, a leading integrated communications agency in Columbus, Ohio. Throughout her career, Monique has developed her professional prowess in brand awareness through social media strategy, website enhancements, content creation and event promotion. Her integrated strategies have resulted in significant increases in online engagement, web traffic and press coverage.
Monique earned her bachelor’s degree from Capital University, and her master’s degree from Bowling Green State University. She is a proud dog mom to a senior mix-breed terrier named Porter.
