Dear Partners,

As we welcome in the cooler weather, the work at Partnership for College Completion is heating up. In recent months, we’ve helped introduce transformative legislation aimed at overhauling how Illinois funds its public universities and initiated a statewide series of conversations underscoring the importance of this bill for the future of Illinois.

Additionally, we’ve launched a groundbreaking new report that highlights critical data and research on Illinois’ severely underfunded community college system. Our efforts to forge partnerships with higher education equity practitioners on campuses across the state continue to strengthen our mission.

At the heart of all we do is a commitment to elevating student voices and experiences. We are proud to host nine exceptional students as part of our 2024-2025 Student Advisory cohort. These students are ready to immerse themselves in leadership principles and advocacy training, ensuring their voices are heard in the fight for equitable higher education policies in Illinois.

In this newsletter, you’ll discover how PCC is leading the charge both on campuses and in the state legislature, advocating for students at every level. This is a historic moment for our state, and together we have the opportunity to create lasting change by passing SB 3965—ensuring universities receive the funding they need to fully support their students.

Your support and advocacy are crucial as we continue working to transform higher education in Illinois. We invite you to join us as we forge new partnerships and take on the challenges ahead.

In Partnership,

Christian Perry, PCC Director of Policy and Advocacy
