Illinois Developmental Education Equity in Action
With support from the Ascendium Education Group and the Illinois Community College Board, the Partnership for College Completion launched the Illinois Developmental Education Equity in Action Network (IDEEA) in December 2023.
IDEAA is a two-year cohort that will provide community colleges and universities across the state with technical assistance and expert guidance to reform their developmental education programs by implementing a co-requisite model. Following the completion of the first cohort’s tenure in December 2025, a new group of institutions has been selected for support, beginning in January 2026.
PCC collaborates with Illinois-based Almy Education to provide intensive coaching and technical assistance to all participating colleges and universities in the areas of math, English and systems-level change. Additionally, PCC retained the Office of Community College Research and Leadership as a research and evaluation partner in this work.
Following the February 2026 release of PCC’s Second Progress Report on Reforming Developmental Education in Illinois, PCC will help to implement DERA based on research and data collected throughout Illinois’ colleges and universities following DERA implementation.

- College of DuPage
